Bacon Wrapped Sausage Bites
Hey gal! This is a super easy appetizer that you can make for your next shindig! I love that it is gluten free and dairy free. I made this recently for a Creative Night with friends. I wanted to try something new and I wanted bacon, so I found this recipe. I love anything wrapped in bacon— Dates! Brussel Sprouts! Chicken! This recipe was easy, cleaner than working with chicken and was just the heft I wanted since we were having a lighter style meal.
I tweaked the recipe a little and would love to share with you .
Here are the deets.
Bacon Wrapped Sausage Bites
Inspired by What the Fork
1 lb Kielbasa Sausage- I bought mine at Sprouts, but you could use Hillshire brand or whatever sausage you like.
10 slices Bacon
1 cup Brown Sugar
3 tablespoons White Balsamic Vinegar
2 Tablespoons stone Ground Mustard
1 Tablespoon Black Pepper
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and top with a baking/cooling rack. Lightly spray the rack with non-stick spray.
Cut sausage down the middle, lengthwise. Slice each half into 1 inch pieces, you should have about 30 pieces of sausage. Cut each piece of bacon into thirds. Wrap one bacon strip around each piece of kielbasa and secure with a toothpick. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and pepper. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved. Keep warm on low.
Brush the kielbasa with glaze and place on the baking sheet/rack. Bake for 30 minutes. After 15 minutes I basted with extra glaze and put back in oven to finish.
Serve immediately.
