Prayer and Praise Salad
Who doesn’t love a good green salad? This one is from the Kitchen of my dear friend, Leslie. She named it this and I love recipes with old-fashioned names. Friends, this is a great salad to bring to a potluck or over to a new mom.
Make the dressing in a mason jar and let them pour the goodness over it themselves.
*I know this salad is a little old school, maybe experiment with using a different oil for the dressing or just a vinegar + Olive oil dressing. Chef’s choice.
*Add more veggies- cucumbers, tomatoes or just keep it simple.
A great friend. A great salad.
Ingredients:
1 head of iceberg lettuce
1 head of romaine lettuce
11 oz can mandarin oranges
1 cup sliced almonds- (can sugar them if you like in a saucepan, heating 1/4 cup sugar with almonds until sugar turns to a liquid and coats the almonds. Cool almonds on parchment paper or cookie sheet. Break into tiny pieces and add to salad at the end)
Dressing:
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup red wine viengar
1 tablespoon Parsley flakes
dash black pepper
