Let's Consider How to Encourage

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.   Hebrews 10:23-25

I met a friend for coffee today and we shared our stories and our life over a table in a cozy little coffee shop.  She was drinking tea, and I was nursing a cappuccino.  We talked about life and kids and life without kids, and then we started talking about our dreaming and scheming.  The things that were making our hearts go pitter-pat.  She shared her visions of where she felt God was calling her to minister and reach out and invite.I shared my dreams and plans, the ways I saw God working as I invite and create ways to invite.I was so encouraged by her heart and her ideas.  I felt spurred on.  I felt like even though it looked different what we were pursuing, we were in the game together.  That feels good to know that we are in this life together and when she has a victory, I have one, too, because of our connection.  Her victories spur me on to look for my victories.  These conversations help me run my race when I get tired, because I do get tired.  And I bet you do, too.It is nice to know she is in her quadrant of the world running her race, and when we get together, we share our victories, our ways of reaching the world for Christ.  It doesn't look the same, but it spurs me on to love and good deeds like the verse says.  I feel encouraged, and she does, too.I feel encouraged as I see the Day draw near, and I feel like the older I get, the Day is getting nearer and nearer.Let's be friends who encourage and spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  We do that by being intentional in our times together and our conversations.  We give each other the Sursee of  Encouragement when we spend time considering how to do this.  The word consider sounds super intentional to me.The reason we can do thoughtful considering is found in verse 23:

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

We hold onto the hope we have in Jesus because He is faithful. We can trust Him even when all else is crumbling around us.  We hold on unswervingly. So what does that look like for you? How are you holding on?  How are you encouraging your gal pals when you get together?  Do tell. Let's be Sursee Gals who encourage and spur one another on to love and good deeds.xoxo
