A New Year's Resolution :: Chronological Bible 2017

One of my other New Year's Resolutions was to switch the translation of the Chronological Bible that I am reading.  I have heard that it is helpful to read out of different translations, so here goes. Plus, I love to invite people to read with me and the NIV version I have is out of print, so folks couldn't join with me.  I will now join with them.This is the version I am diving into this year.Chronological Bible New Living TranslationThe Tyndale Chronological Bible, New Living Translation, 2007.  Available here on Amazon.This will be my 6th year to read through the Bible this way.  I have talked about why I love this way of digging into the Word here and here .  Oh, and also here.  I kind of like this Bible.I spoke at a Mops meeting recently and gave them a New Year's Resolution because that is what I do! Ha ha. I invited them to join me in reading the Chronological Bible, the New Living Translation.  If you want to jump in and join us, please do.  It is fun to read in community, to have some gals you share with or ask a question about the reading.  Accountability, people.  That is what helps us keep those resolutions.I will be posting on IG and writing on the blog about things I am seeing and learning periodically.  Join me?This week in my reading I was struck with how much the LORD loves Joseph and was a part of his life through all the ups and downs.  Remember when Joseph was thrown in prison because of the deceitfulness of Potiphar's wife?  In Genesis 39:21 it says:

But the LORD was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love.  And the LORD made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden.

and then a few verses later in verse 23,

The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything.  The LORD was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.

Faithful love.  The LORD was with him. The Lord caused everything to succeed for Joseph.  Our pastor said the phrase faithful love is translated in Hebrew, HESED.  A faithful, loyal love.   I need that.  You need that.  The people we come into contact need the Lord's faithful, loyal love.The Chronological Bible reminded me that God is a faithful God who is always looking out for me.  I need to receive that.  #RestandReceiveToday was a hard day.  I needed that reminder that His love is faithful and that He is with me even on the hard days.  How about you?
