FAQs

What is the first step in the process?

Our time together coaching begins with a brief 15 minute Introductory Session  where you and I discuss:

  • What coaching is

  • The Coaching Code of Ethics

  • Scheduling and Payment

  • This is also your time to ask me questions

If you are ready to coach with me after this call, we will set up our first Coaching Session.

What will a coaching session look like?

Our session will take place over the phone or in person and will last approximately 50 minutes. When we meet, your only job is to come with that frustrating problem or issue that is bothering you.  Nothing is too big or too small.  I’ll listen and ask you questions, and together we will create a space for you to think and process and identify your next steps to get unstuck.

Are there professional standards for the coaching industry?

Yes, there is a code of ethics, core competencies, accreditation processes and an International Coach Federation (industry association) that promotes the continuing professional development of coaches. To learn more about this, visit their website. I am certified with the International Coaching Federation and have achieved the rank of Associate Certified Coach.

What is a Coach?

Basically, a coach is someone who helps you think through an area in your life that may be causing frustration, an area where you want to move forward, but cannot. We partner together to help you move forward.

ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Coaching is not consulting, counseling, training or mentoring; it’s a specific process of identifying what your challenges or obstacles are and then together I help you map out a process to achieve what you are hoping for through specific outcomes and solutions.
